Singin’ in the rain

On the weekend, I headed out to Future Music Festival with a few friends for a glimpse of Empire of the Sun, Franz Ferdinand, Operator Please, Above & Beyond the the almighty Prodigy!

The first few hours were that of typical lazy, Summer days with lots of sun, a stark contrast to the mini cyclone from the day before, even with sunscreen I managed to get sunburned!

Gumboots were the “must-have” accessory of the day!

A hint for future Gummy wearing activities: always wear knee high socks so they don’t rub. I went with our Roller Derby Referee socks to match my black and white skull Gummys.

In the heat of the earlier afternoon, I almost regretted wearing them… till the clouds rolled in.

Look at all that non-Gummy footwear, tsk tsk tsk.

The storm didn’t dampen the mood of those frolicking the in the foam pit. Plastic ponchos were more highly valued then beer later on in the day.

All was going well (a little wet, but still festive) until they closed down the stages and asked 10,000+ people to seek shelter in a tent large enough for 1000. WTF. Seek Shelter! Check out the video!
